Today was the day I was told 4 more.....4 more, can you believe it?? I have 4 more radiation treatments and then, I'm done. Done with radiation but not "done". Oh - I wish I was done with Cancer all together but we all know - I'm not so lets not pretend. BUT, Its close - soo close I can feel the excitement!!
I thought when they told me 30 something treatments, every day for 2 months - 7 weeks - I forget what I was told but it sounded like FOREVER!!! Everyday, I really thought it would be pure hell....amazingly enough - it hasn't been, I'm tired, I;m annoyed I have to go further away from home when its time to go home but I have 4 treatments left!!!!!! FOUR!!!!! I'm so excited - can't wait to say goodbye to Mary, Dave, Marie, Rebbecca, Ruth Ann and Dr. E!! These are some of the funnest, great spirited people I have met and seen everyday for the past month and a half, or more:) I will miss them and knowing me I will cry when I leave and have to say goodbye but it will be a bitter sweet goodbye!! I will be honest and tell them how much I appreciate them and I truly hope I never have to see them in their place of employment ever again!! I'm sure they will understand!! And smile and send me on my way!!
There are a few ladies in the waiting room too I will miss, their families and stories, some similar , some very different. If I have learned one thing about cancer in general, it doesn't discriminate, But, its an ongoing process and everyday there are new people there to take our places, I wish there weren't but there are and so, we leave and the "newbies" come in and form new relationships with my friends who may or may not have already forgotten about me....and that's ok :) I wish them all the best of luck that this world and God have to offer!!! Keep on fighting my friends, we will all be OK!!!!
As I said before, the radiation wasn't so bad.....until this week!!! I would like my boob to just fall right off, right off I tell ya!!! It might not be as painful - its red and burned and frickin itchy!!!! Oh My God the itchy - I'm guessing from the burn! Oh and the cool paint pen and marker I have to leave drawn on me - that's a sight - sometimes blue, sometimes black. Either way - it helps the techs get the spot right - so I leave it!!!
I will post again when I am done and leave the office for the last time and let you know how it goes....I am soo looking forward to that day, not the goodbyes but the radiation is over!!!!!
Keeping me in your prayers has worked wonders for me - please keep me there!!!!
