3/24/11 Chemo....

Round II - wasn't soo bad until Friday night. This stuff really knocks me out. I don't know what to do have the time - I'm uncomfortable in my own skin so I take baths  - lotsa baths. This is probably not so good because I am supposed to stay hydrated and HOT baths are not good for hydration so I drink alot of water and then throw up!! This went on for 4 days - when finally I called the doctor and was told, "take the anti nausea meds" DUH!!!! I didn't think to because the vomitting came on so quick but they were right, Hmm...doctors, nurses right?? Gotta give those folks some credit!!! They really do know what they are talking about - most the time :)
So today - Tuesday - I feel much better - a little dizzy but I really didn't drink much of anything yesterday  the nausea meds make me sleepy - so I did sleep - ALOT!!!! Back to work today really wondering how the heck people do this five days a week or even once a week!!!
My main concern now, is Easter....I "should" have a treatment before Palm Sunday weekend and I will hopefully learn by then what I can do to NOT be sooo sluggish - I've been told protein, red meat, fish....If anyone has ANY knowledge of this - PLEASE let me know!!! I do not want to feel like garbage and miss my families gathering - I love those!! By Easter I should be good - its the weekend before and my darling boy is making his First Communion on Palm Sunday!!!! YEAH - a year late but better late than never!!! Right!!!
Oh - you may be wondering about my hair - maybe not as much as me but its still here - for now - I'm telling you - you have NO IDEA how much hair is on ones head - I swear - I feel like we should vacuum EVERYDAY like a shedding dog - theres just so much and it keeps on coming but theres still so much left!!! So hats and scarves for now and I think thats what it will be from now on - its thinning but now horrendous yet - there will come the day when I am truly tired of washing my face after touching my head and having a face full of hair!!! But for now - I'm dealing!!!
Again - anyone know of any way to keep from feeling sooo sluggish after chemo - please let me know!! Thanks a bunch and again, Keep those prayers coming - I live for that and knowing that there are such great people out there - which reminds my Chrissy H and family - THANK YOU!!! TONS!!!!! My family loves the food - totally appreciate it!!!

  1. You have the right attitude and are in my prayers. If I find out anything about the sluggish ways, I will let you know. I believe it is common. When my Dad was having Chemo and radition he lived on BOOST. Take care of yourself and stay positive! Denise
