MRI 3/27/12

So, a few weeks back, I thought I was on my last "maintenance" treatment of herceptin. Well, I wasn't. Since I had a few weeks off due to surgery, I had a couple extra to go, NOW, I have one more..which I believe is next Friday, the day after my son, Robert turns 13!! How that happened I don't know but I do know time certainly does fly right on by!!
So, at my last treatment, during my exam, I showed some concern for some "weirdness' in my right breast, there is still a lot of swelling, not too obvious to those who "don't know" but obvious enough to me and my oncologist. And the fact that there are some lumps and bumps, which we agree are probably just from surgery and scar tissue, but, better safe than sorry. So I go for my MRI on Tuesday.
No, I am not freaking out, 1, I just had a mammo and all looked good, 2 I had alot of stuff taken out when I had surgery so the scarring is probably more than I have over my entire body and 3, IF, by some strange chance, its worse, I know what I'm in for and I will be so pissed = Cancer will not know what hit it when I fight back!!!
That being said, lets keep fingers crossed and prayers coming for some simple scar tissue :)
I was also at the Radiation Oncologist this past week and he said the same thing, well, not exactly the same thing but he's quite sure the swelling is "normal" and he also stated that the bigger the area is to start with, the chance for swelling is greater...basically, I wasn't tiny from the start!! Thanks Doc!! Or as my son says, Thanks Captain Obvious...LMAO!!!
So, keeping my spirits up, trying to keep on track with eating and exercising, although this weekend was not so great but I think I'm allowed a few beers with my husband on a Friday night and a pizza for dinner with the kids!! Tomorrow is Monday and I plan on getting on that machine in my room, that has a big belt on it, they have them in gyms and I hear they make you sweat and exercise...oh, its my treadmill!! It's a little dusty but won't be for long!! I look forward to it, right now, call me at 6:30 tomorrow morning and see how I am....wish me luck on all issues, theres more but I won't get in to that on here...this is enough for now!!!
Keep smiling everyone - It really does help!! Love to all!!
